These terms are an agreement between you and [legal operator name] (“Hako”, “we”, “us”) for the Hako app and service. By creating an account or using Hako you agree to them, to our Community Guidelines, and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
Who can use Hako
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to use online services without parental consent, or have that consent. You must give accurate account information and keep your sign-in secure. One person per account.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Hako on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple’s Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or service, or use it to build a competing product.
No tolerance for objectionable content or abuse
Hako has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post or send anything that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, or illegal, that exploits or endangers minors, that promotes self-harm, or that impersonates someone. You may not spam, scrape other users’ information, access accounts or systems that aren’t yours, or interfere with the service. The Community Guidelines explain these rules in more detail.
You can report messages and profiles and block other users from inside the app. We review reports, normally within 24 hours, and may remove content and restrict, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that break these rules, with or without warning, depending on how serious the violation is.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you create in Hako. You give us a limited licence to store, copy, display, and transmit it only as needed to run the service, for example to show your messages to the members of a room. You are responsible for what you share. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
Subscriptions and purchases
Paid features, if offered, are bought through Apple’s App Store. The price and billing period are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends; manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Deleting your Hako account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Changes and availability
Hako is still evolving. We may add, change, or remove features, and we can’t promise the service will always be available or error-free. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect; continuing to use Hako afterwards means you accept the new terms.
Ending your use
You can stop using Hako and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, put other people or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. If you think we made a mistake, email support@hakostudy.com.
Disclaimers and liability
Hako is a study and productivity tool, not educational, medical, or professional advice. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data you could have exported. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
Apple
If you downloaded Hako from the App Store:
- These terms are between you and Hako only, not Apple. Hako, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Hako, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- Hako, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any claim that the app or your use of it infringes someone’s intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when using the app, such as your mobile carrier’s.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [country]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and can bring claims in its courts.
